BLACKMEANS CUSTOM STUDIO
一点一点ハンドメイドで2008年よりレザーブランドとしてスタートした「blackmeans」。なんと、これまで関係者以外足を踏み入れることのなかった八幡山の「blackmeas flagship shop」に潜む地下スタジオが、2014年9月13日より「blackmeans custom store」としてオープン。「パンク＋モーターサイクル＋民族＋ハードコア＋モード」をコンセプトに掲げ、既成概念にとらわれることなく新しい価値観、文化、視点を自由に創造し共有しているブランド。

Tokyo Based Leather Brand BLACKMEANS opened up their Custom Shop this past week in the Tokyo suburbs. The basement studio lies beneath the brands flagship store which stocks the full line-up of BLACKMEANS goods from trademark basic leathers to Hiroshima Denims and traditionally embroidered fabrics. Strong in the hardcore punk aesthetics which have thus far informed their customization of leather with studs and graffiti, recent overseas exhibitions led to an exploration of Japanese motifs including gilded ornamental pieces purchased from a local shrine, a unique use of materials for cultural synergy demonstrated in the Fall/Winter 2014 Visual pictured here.
